EMIL TAN

Emil Tan is an established cybersecurity professional. He has experience from cybersecurity R&D, to cybersecurity operations, governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC), and providing cybersecurity consultancy and advisory services.

Emil is renowned in the cybersecurity community. He founded and lead Division Zero (Div0) — one of Singapore’s largest cybersecurity community groups — guided by the mission to promote a vibrant cybersecurity community/ecosystem and safer cyberspace in Singapore. He is also the Board Chairman and one of the founding directors of the Cyber Youth Singapore (CYS).

Emil also co-founded Infosec In the City (IIC), an international cybersecurity capability and capacity development network. SINCON – IIC’s Singapore Network – brings top cybersecurity leaders and experts from both the East and the West together to share and discuss deep-technical topics and insights to build and advance the region’s cybersecurity capabilities and capacity through specialised training, thought-leadership and insights briefings, and conferences.

In recognition of his contributions to Singapore’s cybersecurity ecosystem, he was awarded the inaugural Cybersecurity Awards 2018 (Professional category) supported by the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA).

DAVID CHUA

Mr David Chua was appointed as the first Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Council (NYC), an autonomous agency under the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY). NYC oversees two key operational divisions – Outward Bound Singapore (OBS) and Youth Corps Singapore. NYC drives holistic youth development at the national level, in partnership with public and private sector agencies. It engages young Singaporeans, sends them overseas for growth and exposure, tracks youth trends and capacity builds youth sector organisations.

David is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors at *SCAPE, a Company Limited by Guarantee (CLG) under MCCY, that runs aspirational programmes for youth. Prior to joining NYC, David served for 22 years in the Singapore Armed Forces.

ANGELA WU

Angela Wu is a Staff Threat Intelligence Analyst for VMware, based out of Singapore. She has over 17 years of internal-facing information security & technology experience, largely in U.S-based technology companies, U.S. and Singapore-based banks. Since September 2015, she focuses on Cyber Threat Intelligence and shares relevant details of current threats, cyber incidents with related stakeholders, where details are then used in making decisions, detections or preventions. Prior to that, she was in Security Incident Management for 1 year, Identity Access Management for 4 years and various information technology roles for 7 years. She graduated with a Bachelor of Information Systems from Swinburne University of Technology (Australia) in 2005, and Master of Science (Knowledge Management) from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) in 2009.

WILSON TAN

Wilson Tan has been in the telecoms industry for more than 20 years and is currently the center Director for Singtel’s Cyber Security Institute (CSI). Asia’s leading educational facility to train cyber security professionals, senior management and board members in the fight against cyber warfare.

He leads a team of cyber security professionals and works with best of breed partners to offer experiential and engaging educational sessions targeted at all levels of the organisation. Utilising a state-of-the art cyber range and working with seasoned cyber security professionals, modular sessions are being co-created and delivered at CSI.

He is a regular speaker and moderator in many industry conferences and is involved actively in promoting cyber security in schools through career talks and classroom activities. With a passion to develop young talent, Wilson also works with Singtel’s talent management team to promote and recruit cyber interns. Some of these interns will work at CSI to sharpen their technical and business acumen skills. He holds a Masters in Economics at the University of Wollongong, Australia, and is a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) cyber practitioner. He has recently completed an Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP) to be a qualified facilitator and assessor in Adult Education. Beyond his work, he is actively serving in a local church as Chairman of the Board.

JASON CHEN

Jason Chen is the Country Manager for Z and Cognitive systems Singapore. He is responsible for the hardware business, which includes, Mainframe, Linuxone, Power Systems and Enterprise Linux Servers. Jason has been in the IT industry for 14 years.

As an innovative thought leader, Jason is constantly seeking new ideas and ways for his business to be future-ready for growth. He is passionate about transformational technologies such as AI, machine learning, and blockchain; sustainable development and green IT; and the future of work and digital transformation.

Jason is passionate about Youth Talent development. He is the advisor to the Singapore Computer society Youth council. He spends his time mentoring youths and helping them grow their careers.

Ben Chua

Chief Executive Officer
Ben is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Cyber Youth Singapore (CYS), a non-profit organisation in Singapore focused on developing Singapore’s digital future. The organisation is supported by the National Youth Council (NYC) and the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA). Ben is recognised by CSA as one of the champions for the national SG Cyber Talent initiative. Ben is also the recipient of the Singapore Computer Society’s IT Youth of the Year Award 2020. He is recognised through the award for his outstanding contributions to the technology industry.

Ben has extensive experience in youth engagement and interaction, serving as the leader for a community of over 1000 youths in CYS. He was previously a lecturer and a panellist for CSA’s Youth Cyber Exploration Programme in 2019, serving as a mentor for over 200 youths. He is also certified as an Accredited Configuration Engineer (ACE) and Organisational Systems Security Analyst (OSSA) by Palo Alto and ThinkSECURE. He graduated from Singapore Polytechnic with a Diploma in Infocomm Security Management with Applied Psychology in 2020.

YONG HUI TING

Hui Ting is currently working full time at Sea Group in the IT Security Team as a Junior IT Analyst and she is also studying a part-time degree, Bachelor in Technology (Cybersecurity) at the National University of Singapore. Before she began working full time, she was an active volunteer member for 2 years in the Management Committee as the Chief Operating Officer who led the Operations Division.

During her time in the CYS management committee, Hui Ting had the opportunity to lead and organise the 5-day event, Cyber Youth Singapore Summit 2021, for 500 youths. She is passionate about serving the community, ensuring that the youth in technology have an opportunity to learn and develop their skills together. She is definitely well equipped with the skills to interact and engage with fellow youths in the community and to strive for what the youth would want for the community.

YU PENGFEI

Pengfei is a prominent student leader who thrives on cool projects and community work. While undergoing his undergraduate studies in the Singapore Institute of Technology, he was awarded the IMDA SG:D Scholarship and founded the SIT N0H4TS cybersecurity special interest club, of which he continues to serve as an advisor. He has also represented Singapore on multiple global competitions and secured top positions.

Pengfei is involved in many local cybersecurity endeavours, he is a core volunteer in Division Zero – a Singapore-based cybersecurity community group. He leads the N0H4TS Tinkerers quarter – a special projects team within Division Zero and is also a board member of the Cyber Youth Singapore. He also heads multiple initiatives such as hosting a cybersecurity podcast – Div0:Unfiltered, chairing and organising an annual student-centric cybersecurity conference – STANDCON and hosting Capture The Flags competitions.

Upon his recent graduation in 2021, Pengfei has begun his professional career as a Cybersecurity Specialist at the Government Technology Agency (GovTech), contributing primarily in the area of adversary simulations and technical audits on government agencies’ critical infrastructures. He continues to actively contribute back to the community by bridging the gap between students and the professional industry in cybersecurity.
